" In terms of fish life, color and lush reefs, Irian Jaya is destined to become the standard against which all diving is measured"
Larry and Denise Tacket
Larry and Denise are professional photographers, writers and presenters specializing in underwater and natural history subjects. They are represented internationally by several stock agencies and their work has appeared in books and magazines worldwide. Previously, the Tacketts led international field expeditions searching the tropics for naturally occurring anti-cancer substances. When not diving, they teach photography and lead seminars and workshops internationally. Denise also devotes time to studying the behavior of pygmy seahorses, and in honor of her work with them, a newly discovered species (the world’s smallest seahorse) has been named for her: Hippocampus denise.
The Tacketts have contributed to BBC, Ushuaïa Nature and National Geographic Television documentaries about the underwater world and they were contributing editors to Skin Diver magazine. They now contribute regularly to Asian Diver and Sport Diver magazines. Denise has authored several other books: Insight Pocket Guide: Maldives, Reef Life, Natural History and Behaviors of Marine Fishes and Invertebrates, and their latest book, The Essential Underwater Photography Manual.
Larry and Denise spend several months a year traveling abroad. When not traveling, they reside at their home in wild, wonderful West Virginia.
